AdSense Plugin: List of WordPress Plugins that can get you ‘Plug-out’ from the program

Wordpress is an excellent blogging tool with millions of blogger using wordpress to blog. Plugins for WordPress is an easy way to extend the functionallity of WordPress and there are a lot of plugins being created to help bloggers integrate AdSense into their WordPress. But beware, not all is good for you and here I have compiled (and will continue to update) a list of WordPress plugins that can get you banned from Google AdSense Program.

  • AdSense Attachment Plugin. The plugin works to display your attachment images in a stand alone page filled with AdSense ads. You may ask how this violate AdSense TOS, well first of you can’t display non-content (this mean pictures only) page filled with nothing but ads. Below is a screenshot:

  • AdSense Click Safety. Its actually a Wordpress Theme with an added feature called AdSense Click Safety. Well, what it does is that it modifies your AdSense code when you (the blogger) views the blog. The theme actually replaces the publisher id to something else (which is not yours) and thus should you accidentally click on the ads, it will not be counted as yours. This is not good for you as AdSense said that you can’t modify your ad code.
  • AdSense Manager. This is actually a good plugin to help you display AdSense ads visually using widgets. The problem is that the developer included his AdSense code as well and will display his codes x% of the time. Google have banned his account and effords to clarify the source of the problem reach a dead road. The main reason I believe is because you are displaying AdSense codes on pages/sites that are not yours and you alternate the code with others. To AdSense, this is suspicious, how your codes get displayed on thousands of blogs?.
  • AdRotator. This is a nice plugin if you want to rotate different ads network on your blog. So, lets say you got 3 advertising network, AdRotator is good to randomly go thru each/multiple network on the same space. Some people say its ok to put AdSense as well into the list of ads network but I wont recommend them. Reason: since the same spot will display different ads (example: first reload will be YPN, second reload will be AdSense and third reload will be Clicksor), this might make the user believe that the same spot is advertised by the same advertising network. I do not have concrete evidence on this, but to me it could violote AdSense TOS. A safer solution is to use AdRotator with no AdSense code on them.
  • AdSense Beautifier. This plugin was ‘ok’ to be used once upon a time. But now, Google AdSense have said, no images near AdSense codes. This plugin will automatically add pictures to your AdSense codes to make them more beautiful. Images beside ads do increase the CTR (click thru rate). Below is a screenshot:

If you are aware of some more plugins that may/could get you in trouble with AdSense, do let me know. Its important that you keep yourselve updated with the latest AdSense policy and ways that can get you banned.
