Where to Download iPhone Apps
Those lucky iPhone apps downloads owners are an excitable lot. Take Apple’s recent release of a beta ‎of its iPhone SDK for apps downloads, for example. Within four days one hundred thousand eager souls ‎had made the trip to the Apple website, found the SDK, and downloaded iPhone it. This is in ‎additional to uncounted hoards who found the iPhone apps and SDK torrent file and obtained it ‎that way. A further one million people found time to watch the QuickTime movie ‎describing the release.‎
Two hundred ten Terabytes of traffic over four days was a little over what Apple iPhone downloads was ‎expecting, clearly, and the servers were having a had time distributing the files (one ‎reason we can expect torrent downloads to account for a larger portion of iPhone SDK ‎downloads).‎
Industry heads like THQ Wireless, Six Apart, PopCap and Namco have all been ‎making appreciative noises about the download apps for iPhone SDK and we can expect some interesting ‎apps to start appearing in the Apple store in coming months.‎
