Ares Lite uses less resources
In the very beginning, Ares Lite was a cut down version (the ‘Lite’ version) of the original Ares Galaxy. The difference between Ares Lite and Ares Galaxy was in the use in the latter of an integrated chat room facility. While this was very useful it tended to be an optional extra for some users and was dumped in favor of reduced system resources. Thus the ‘Lite’ version of Ares which used less in the way of system resources than its bigger brother.
This cut down version is largely redundant with today’s computers with ever growing hard drives, ever quickening processors and ever increasing memory capacities. All Ares Lite succeeds in doing is creating a stunted version of the original version. That is not to say that this wasn’t incredibly useful when it was first developed in 2002, because it was.
The ‘Lite’ part of the Ares Lite moniker was mistaken by some user bases as meaning that the program was the only one that was not packaged with the malware that was unfortunately bundled with so many other versions of Ares. This is incorrect as recent ‘clean’ releases like Ares Ultra, Ares Vista and Ares Ultimate will show. Unfortunately bundles like Ares Destiny (along with the over friendly ‘Dealio’) still give many entrepreneurs a bad name.
